Training
VACRO is providing free training to professionals and volunteers on ‘Working
with Offenders Families’.
The training will cover the main areas within the Families of Offenders
Resource Kit utilising the experiences of the families, and strategies for
workers to support these families.
Key areas include:
- What do the families’ experience when a loved one is incarcerated?
- What should the children be told?
- Families and the Criminal Justice System
- How are family relationships maintained?
- Who to talk to

Darebin: Feb-March 2007
Whittlesea: March-April 2007
Port Phillip: June-July
Geelong: September-October 2007
Moonee Valley: March-April 2008
Monash: June-July 2008
Casey: September-October 2008
Wellington: February-March 2009
