Astrid Birgden Board member, appointed 2017 BA, Dip App Psych, MPsych (Forensic), Masters (Advanced Mental Disability Law), PhD Dr Astrid Birgden is a consultant forensic psychologist with 30 years of experience in rehabilitation for people exiting prison. She currently works as an adjunct clinical associate professor in the School of Psychology at Deakin University, as an assessor for the Australian Research Council, and is a member of the editorial team for ActaCriminologica. Dr Birgden established seven services and programs in Victoria and New South Wales in corrections, courts and disability services, including the provision of staff training.
