The opportunity

Your creative writing flair and social media capabilities will make you an effective member of our newly formed Development Team. Bring your passion for creating second chances for people caught in the justice system and their families as well as for addressing factors that lead to reoffending and intergenerational offending. You will seek out and tell our clients positive stories.

VACRO is seeking a highly motivated communications professional to plan, implement and evaluate media and communications strategies with the goal of enhancing VACRO’s culture, brand and reputation. You will undertake special communications projects and advise on best practice in producing high quality, audience-appropriate editorial for web and print.


Key selection criteria
  • Tertiary qualification or working towards a qualification in Communications, Media, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism and/ or equivalent demonstrated experience in a related field (experience in not-for-profit sector desired).
  • Demonstrated capacity working in a digital marketing and/or communications role writing for social media platforms.
  • Proven track record in producing written content targeted to a specific audience and translating complex information into compelling narratives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail, including highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills with a strong customer focus.
  • A demonstrated capacity for innovative thought and action.
  • Sound knowledge of the issues associated with individuals who are socially disadvantaged and the community service sector.
  • Motivated to work in the not-for-profit sector.
