Program Design Writer Position overview Create compelling narratives for innovative new criminal justice programs. 3 days per week (0.6 FTE) for 6 months, Melbourne CBD based at a values driven organisation. The opportunity VACRO is seeking a highly motivated Writer with the ability to listen to various voices across our organisation and translate their ideas into clear, logical and compelling program descriptions. Your ability to take complex ideas and distil them into a coherent written narrative will make you an effective member of our Development Team. Bring your passion for assisting people caught in the criminal justice system to create new beginnings for themselves and their families. You will participate in our program design process, working collaboratively with the Development Team and subject matter experts, producing comprehensive overviews of VACRO’s strategic development priorities, which will then be used to shape a range of funding proposals. Key selection criteria Tertiary qualification or working towards a qualification in Communications, Media, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism and/or equivalent demonstrated experience in a related field. A minimum of 5 years’ experience producing writing that is final version quality ready for publication. Proven track record in producing written content targeted to a specific audience and translating complex information into compelling narratives. Demonstrated success in building internal stakeholder relationships involving collaboration, consultation and interviewing. A strategic thinker with demonstrated capacity for innovative thought and action. Experience with program development in the community services sector and grant writing is desirable. Motivated to work in the not-for-profit sector.
