Executive Director of Development 

Melanie joined Vacro in 2005 to manage our family and children’s services, and now leads the design, development and funding of new projects and services.

Melanie holds a Bachelor of Social Work and has extensive experience in case management and program management, including leading Melbourne City Mission’s design and implementation of homelessness responses for families, children, and women exiting prison. She has been extensively involved in sector research and advocacy groups, including the Corrections Victoria Restorative Justice Advisory Committee, the Smart Justice Advisory Group, the Monash University AC Research Advisory Group, the Families of Parents with a Mental Illness Advisory Committee and the Care Planning for Children of Parents Entering Prison.

Melanie has a deep passion for a misunderstood sector and a commitment to improving responses to and outcomes for people involved with the criminal justice system.
