VACRO takes our work for and responsibility to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people seriously.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people remain over-represented in the criminal justice system and are disproportionately in contact with state institutions. Closing gaps like these is a collective and urgent responsibility.
We offer practical support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families to remain connected throughout incarceration, and job assistance to build meaningful employment pathways out of prison. In addition to these specialised programs, every other VACRO program is automatically available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their families. Browse programs for families, job-seekers, and people returning to their communities after prison.
