Wills and bequests

Leaving a gift to Vacro is a unique way you can continue supporting others into the future. Your gift will serve to honour your memory and live out your values. No matter how big or small, your gift ensures we can be there to support people caught in the criminal justice system and their families.

25-year-old Mark had always felt alone — but thanks to the support of his Vacro case manager, he found his feet after prison. Our support helped him find his feet after leaving prison, connecting him with professional help in his community for the first time.

If you believe in second chances and strong communities, you believe in Vacro’s work.

Supporting Vacro's work with a bequest in your will

We recommend you speak with a lawyer to ensure your will is valid and your wishes are expressed correctly. Some sample language that may be useful in leaving a gift to Vacro is:

I [your name] bequeath to Vacro for its general purposes [select one option]:

  • the whole of my estate
  • [percentage] of my estate
  • the residual of my estate

free from all duties, and the receipt of the Financial Secretary or other authorised officer of Vacro at the time of my death, shall be full and sufficient discharge for my Executor(s).

About Vacro

Founded in 1872, Vacro is one of Victoria’s oldest independent community organisations. We support new beginnings for people in contact with the criminal justice systems and their families, and work to make communities stronger for everyone. With your support, we can help ease the transition out of prison and back to community — improving circumstances and outcomes for everyone.

Vacro acknowledges the First Nations people of Australia and pay our respect to Elders past and present. We acknowledge the unbroken spiritual and cultural connections of the First Nations People of Australia to their lands. Vacro also supports the Treaty process of acknowledging that lands were never ceded.

Vacro, as a leading voice in the reintegration field, also acknowledges that First Nations people across all jurisdictions are significantly impacted by justice systems as a direct result of colonisation.
