Training

To enquire about specialised training for organisations working with people in contact with the criminal justice system, please contact Vacro's Development Manager, Melanie Field-Pimm, at [email protected]

Vacro has also produced a range of resources for workers supporting people in contact with the criminal justice system, their families, and children. We welcome shared non-commercial use of these resources with acknowledgement.

FORK: An Instrumental Tool for Workers

The Families of Offenders Resource Kit (FORK) is a collection of 18 fact sheets designed to increase awareness and understanding of the impact of the criminal justice system on children and families. It aims to build local service capacity to support ‘at-risk’ children and family members of incarcerated people, and strengthen support to families and communities.

The Transition Toolkit

This toolkit is designed to assist families who will soon be reunited with a family member being released from prison. It has been developed as a tool for professional workers to provide relevant guidance and support to these families.

Prisoner Legal Issues for Case Managers

This guide provides workers, who may not be legally trained, with a basic ‘step-by-step’ resource guide that prompts the identification and referral of legal issues at the earliest possible stage. It is not intended as legal advice.

Vacro acknowledges the First Nations people of Australia and pay our respect to Elders past and present. We acknowledge the unbroken spiritual and cultural connections of the First Nations People of Australia to their lands. Vacro also supports the Treaty process of acknowledging that lands were never ceded.

Vacro, as a leading voice in the reintegration field, also acknowledges that First Nations people across all jurisdictions are significantly impacted by justice systems as a direct result of colonisation.
